Prices on the rise

"Cooked eggs with rice is the only thing that the Panamanian people can eat," a group of
employees from the University of Panama claimed yesterday in Panama's capital and Colon,
during a protest in which they demanded that the government places a stop to the rising prices of
rice, bread, milk, and eggs. The basic basket has increased over the past nine months and now
costs $217.83 dollars.
